Rebecca offers a compassionate and creative approach to counselling, using art therapy to help clients explore emotions, experiences, and personal challenges in ways that don’t rely on words alone. She understands that traditional talk therapy isn’t the right fit for everyone and believes creative expression can provide another meaningful pathway for processing difficult emotions, developing greater self-awareness, and reconnecting with yourself.
Rebecca’s approach is client-centred and trauma-informed, creating a supportive, non-judgemental environment where clients are encouraged to explore at their own pace. Depending on each person’s needs, counselling sessions may include conversation alongside painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, or other forms of creative expression. No artistic experience is necessary—the focus is on the process and what emerges through it, rather than the finished artwork.
Rebecca’s path to art therapy began through her own healing journey, where she discovered the profound wisdom and clarity that creative expression can offer. She believes that healing is a layered and deeply personal process—one that often calls us into new and unfamiliar spaces. Rebecca recognizes that healing and personal growth are deeply individual, and her goal is to help clients feel supported as they navigate stress, difficult emotions, trauma, grief, life transitions, and other challenges.
Apart from art therapy, Rebecca also offers reiki for clients interested in energy-based wellness. Through reiki, she provides a quiet, restorative experience intended to encourage relaxation, energetic balance, and connection with oneself. Reiki can be booked on its own and is not billable as counselling.
Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the University of Calgary and completed her master’s-level training in Art Therapy at the Canadian International Institute of Art Therapy (CiiAT). She is a registered Professional Member of the Canadian Art Therapy Association (CATA) and the Association of Counselling Therapists of Alberta (ACTA).
