Massage therapy comes in many forms and types. All types use specific techniques to manipulate the soft tissue of the body to have a desired effect. All of our Registered Massage Therapists in Calgary are fully licensed and have a minimum of 2200 hours of training or equivalency and have many different specialties.

Massage therapy has many proven health benefits; It has been shown to lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure, decrease muscle tension and pain, decrease frequency and intensity of headaches, decrease stress, improve circulation to speed up recovery, and increase range of motion in joints. In one study, massage therapy was shown to i
mprove pain, anxiety, and depression in patients with Fibromyalgia.

Aromatherapy Massage Calgary
Picture

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils to have a therapeutic effect on the physical, emotional and mental bodies. The oils are the volatile, aromatic compounds that are extracted from the flowers, leaves, roots, stems and bark of plants that have been in use for over 1000 years.

The oils can be inhaled or applied to the skin with a carrier oil (massage oil) to achieve a specific purpose.  Some oils are grounding and calming, while others are energizing and uplifting. Some oils are antibacterial and anti-fungal, while others have shown to be a digestive stimulant or immune booster.
Essential oils are another natural tool given to us by mother nature.

If you would like an Aromatherapy Massage and have high quality essential oils at home, please bring them in and your Registered Massage Therapist would be happy to use them during your massage treatment. You may also purchase essentials oils during your visit to our Wellness centre for use in your treatment and to take home for self-care.
