Let's talk about Cancer Recovery. 43% of Canadians will be diagnosed with Cancer in their lifetime. Over the last 25 years the most common types of Cancers are: Breast, Prostate, Lung, and Colorectal. Thankfully, due to research and development, many cancers are now treatable. The treatments can vary depending on the size and stage of the cancer. Sometimes radical surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy are necessary. Some patients are also candidates for immunotherapy. Unfortunately, these treatments come with some side effects that can be difficult to handle. Medications, (sometimes multiple medications), can be prescribed for these symptoms, however, these medications can cause other side effects. While going through cancer treatment, it is imperative that patients are able to sleep, eat, digest, and eliminate properly so it is really important that the symptoms are not ignored.
